Johann Sebastian Bach

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 - 1750) was a German classical baroque composer and organist. He wrote a huge number of works for keyboard instruments, chamber orchestra as well as choral music, Masses, concerto's and sonata's for various instruments.

It was a Brit what did for him, an eye surgeon called John Taylor who was responsible for blinding many of his patients! J.S.Bach was going blind and underwent an operation from which he died soon after from complications.

One of my favourite J.S.Bach compositions is the Tocata and Fugue in D Minor for organ which in the video below is played by organist Hans-André Stamm on the Trost-Organ of the Stadtkirche in Waltershausen, Germany.
