Jimmy McHugh (1894 - 1969) was an American composer of popular songs. Most of the well know singers of his time recorded his songs which included such standards as 'I can't give you anything but love', 'On the sunny side of the street' and the one featured here, 'I'm in the mood for love', out of a portfolio of over 500 songs.
I have chosen this song as I love the George Shearing arrangement of it which uses his locked hands technique of jazz interpretation. Unfortunately for my listeners the recording below is of me playing my Yamaha electric piano and trying to sound like Shearing!
The recording sounded OK when played as a midi file but the first conversion to mp3 seemed to change the dynamics so I converted the midi to an mp4 file. I have lost some sound volume but the quality is back.
